• February 18, 2012 – Dr. George E. Kirtley
A Beautiful Smile in Today’s Economy
*If you missed his highly praised program last year, this is another opportunity to discover how to incorporate sophisticated cosmetic dentistry into your practice.*
The initial focus of this lecture appeals to the artistic aspect of dentistry, through understanding the interrelationship between the face and the smile/teeth in designing a smile.
This lecture entails the preoperative analysis of a patient’s smile through the use of digital photography and the use of Envision A Smile cosmetic imaging software. It addresses the successful methods and techniques used in consultations to present the possibilities of cosmetic dental procedures to the inquiring patient, and how to make relaxed, rewarding presentations to the patient.
Additionally, this lecture will take into consideration the challenging economic times and the esthetic procedures that can still be provided on a budget. Awareness of these opportunities enables us to provide less costly alternatives to our inquiring patients. Examples of esthetic denture design, gingival contouring, esthetic tooth contouring, and even adjunctive procedures such as Botox and Dermal Fillers will be presented to address the economic challenge.
George E. Kirtley, DDS, started his practice in Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Indianapolis, Ind., more than 30 years ago. He received his degree from Indiana University in 1978 and in 1987 graduated from the Midwest Institute of Implantology. Dr. Kirtley continues to treat patients and educate dentists at the Midwest Center for Advanced Dental Education as well as internationally.
Dr. Kirtley is presently one of only two dentists in the world who have been accredited by both the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He received Reality Publishing’s Four-Star Award for developing Envision A Smile cosmetic imaging software in 2010. The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry presented Dr. Kirtley with special recognition for Envision A Smile for advancing the art and science of cosmetic dentistry. He has presented lectures and hands-on workshops in eight countries including the United States. Dr. Brian LaSage - Contemporary Esthetic Dentistry: Combining Sound Esthetics with Minimally Invasive Restorative Dentistry Principles.
What does the dental professional need to be aware of and what does the dental literature manifest that can guide us to predictable esthetic results? Have you ever thought about the nuances of smile design that you use every day, without even thinking about it.
Dr. Brian P. LeSage graduated magna cum laude with the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society award from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1983. Dr. LeSage has actively integrated academic pursuits with a private practice, first in Washington D.C., and now for the last 20 years in Beverly Hills, California, emphasizing aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry.

He was awarded the Excellence in Cosmetic Dental Education Award by the academy in 2009, and was inducted as a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry also in 2009.
Implant dentistry is evolving into a more predictable form of therapy, and new techniques when appropriately selected and applied allow for even greater esthetic results. At the same time, these new techniques continue to raise questions that demand considerable knowledge of the variables regarding their use. The choices are there but do not come easy.
This program addressed and answered those controversial issues as they relate to papillary maintence, early loading, membranes, grafting, immediate utilization and more. The enhanced knowledge of these techniques added to the already advanced knowledge of cosmetics will make a great esthetic restorative combination for you and better and more predictably satisfying outcomes for your patients.
